The Missing Bat

ABOUT
First drop in the all important number three position is the Duncan Fearnley which was sadly reported missing-in-action after this deployment. Liberated from a Quartermaster’s store in Kuwait the bat unfortunately did not make it to the extraction by helicopter. This deployment was in support of several VIPs visiting Australian operations in Iraq. Games were sporadically organised in hangers, medical facilities, and in the driveway of the Australian MEAO HQ. Apart from several rocket attacks, this was a relatively low threat deployment. The only incident involved a blue on blue incident in which an operator released an unauthorised chemical weapon inside one of the VIP’s unarmoured security vehicles. Fortunately, there were no friendly casualties.
